Man with Van Brompton Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Man with Van Brompton has taken, and continues to take, to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking occurring within our business operations and supply chains. Man with Van Brompton operates in the transport and relocation sector and recognises the responsibility we share with our partners and suppliers to uphold human rights and fair working practices.
Modern slavery is a crime and a fundamental violation of human rights. It can take many forms, including forced labour, debt bondage, servitude, human trafficking, and the exploitation of vulnerable workers. Man with Van Brompton is fully committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all business dealings and relationships, and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls aimed at ensuring modern slavery has no place in our organisation or in our wider supply chains.
Our Zero-Tolerance Approach
Man with Van Brompton has a zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery and human trafficking. We will not knowingly engage with any individual, contractor, or organisation involved in, benefiting from, or turning a blind eye to exploitative practices. All employees, contractors, and suppliers are expected to share this commitment and to conduct business in a manner that respects the rights and dignity of every person.
Our zero-tolerance approach is reflected in our internal policies, codes of conduct, and commercial agreements. Where there is credible evidence that a party has breached this commitment, Man with Van Brompton reserves the right to suspend or terminate the relationship and to take any further action we consider appropriate and proportionate to the circumstances.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We understand that the risk of modern slavery can be heightened within complex or extended supply chains. To address this risk, Man with Van Brompton is working to ensure that our suppliers and subcontractors adhere to high ethical and labour standards. We expect all suppliers to pay at least legal minimum wages, provide safe working conditions, avoid excessive working hours, and respect the freedom of workers to leave their employment.
We conduct proportionate checks on new and existing suppliers based on the nature of the services provided and the geographical and sector risks involved. These checks may include supplier questionnaires, requests for evidence of labour standards compliance, reviews of policies and procedures, and, where appropriate, on-site visits or audits. Where risks are identified, we seek corrective action, increased oversight, or, where necessary, the discontinuation of the business relationship.
Reporting Channels and Employee Awareness
Man with Van Brompton encourages a culture in which concerns about modern slavery, exploitation, or unethical conduct can be raised without fear of retaliation. All employees, agency workers, and contractors are encouraged to report any suspicion or evidence of modern slavery, whether within our own operations or in our supply chain.
Reports can be made through established internal reporting routes, including direct escalation to line managers or senior management, or through any designated escalation process communicated within the business. Reports will be treated seriously, handled sensitively, and investigated promptly. No individual raising a concern in good faith will suffer any detrimental treatment as a result of speaking up.
We also seek to increase awareness of modern slavery risks among our workforce. This includes providing guidance on recognising warning signs of exploitation and outlining the steps to take if concerns arise in the course of day-to-day operations or interactions with suppliers and contractors.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
Man with Van Brompton recognises that tackling modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility and not a one-off exercise. We are committed to continuously improving our processes, risk assessments, and monitoring activities to enhance the effectiveness of our approach. Feedback from employees, suppliers, and other stakeholders is considered an important part of this improvement process.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed annually by senior management to ensure that it remains accurate, relevant, and aligned with our business practices and legal obligations. As part of this review, we assess the effectiveness of our actions over the previous year, identify areas for further development, and update our objectives for the year ahead. Any resulting changes to our policies, supplier requirements, or training and reporting mechanisms are communicated within the organisation and, where appropriate, to our supply chain partners.
This statement has been approved by the management of Man with Van Brompton, who are responsible for its implementation and for ensuring that the principles it contains are embedded across our operations and supply chains.
